Understanding and Developing Your Project
At Soiva, we turn that initial vision into a bespoke glass solution, supporting the project through each stage of development. We work alongside designers, design studios, companies and technical departments to define shapes, proportions, thicknesses, colours, textures and finishes, combining design expertise, knowledge of the material and manufacturing capability. This approach allows us to follow the project from the initial concept through to the finished component, maintaining continuity between creative intent, technical development and the final result.
Every bespoke glass project begins with listening. Before identifying a solution, we gather the information needed to understand the context, the intended application and the role the glass will play within the project. This gives us a clear framework for development from the outset and helps align aesthetic, functional and technical objectives.
Our team works closely with the client to analyse the requirements of the project and the intended use of the final product. We consider how the glass will interact with other materials, how it will be installed, any dimensional constraints and the characteristics the component must retain once integrated into a lighting fixture, product or interior.
From there, we assess feasibility and define the main characteristics of the project: shapes, dimensions, thicknesses, colours, transparency, textures and finishes. When required, we also consider assembly methods, tolerances, quantities and repeatability, particularly when a project needs to move from an initial prototype to a more structured production run.
This process helps turn a creative idea into a solution that can be produced with confidence. The aim is to preserve the identity of the original concept while finding the right balance between visual impact, functionality, the properties of glass and technical requirements.
Prototyping and Sampling
When the project requires it, prototypes and samples are developed before production. This stage moves the evaluation from drawings and renderings to the material itself, allowing the result to be reviewed directly before the final production phase begins.
Sampling makes it possible to assess proportions, finishes, colours, textures, transparency and reflections, as well as the overall appearance of the glass. It can also be used to compare different options and understand how the component responds to light, neighbouring materials and the environment in which it will be used. On more complex projects, the prototype becomes a practical reference point for the client, designers and production team.
The project can then be refined by addressing any details that need further adjustment. Changes are defined before production begins, helping align the finished result with the agreed aesthetic and technical requirements and creating a more controlled transition into manufacturing.
From Design to Production
Once the project has been approved, the specifications defined during development are transferred into production in our glass factory. Our master glassmakers combine skilled craftsmanship with modern technologies to work the glass according to the agreed requirements, with particular attention to shape, surface, thickness and finish.
Each component is carefully finished and inspected to verify its visual quality, precision and compliance with the required technical and functional standards. Communication between development and production continues throughout this stage, making it possible to manage complex processes, distinctive details and project-specific requirements with close attention.
Start your projectA Truly Bespoke Approach
Every project is different and calls for a flexible approach. Dimensions, quantities, glassmaking techniques, finishes, complexity and intended use can vary significantly from one application to another. For this reason, the development process is adapted to the specific needs of each commission rather than relying on a predefined solution.
Our experience allows us to manage complex glass applications and tailor development and production to the client’s objectives. We can work on individual glass components, small series, dedicated samples or larger production runs, while maintaining attention to repeatability and consistency. Direct dialogue with production also helps identify practical solutions at an early stage of development.
Continuous collaboration between design and production makes it possible to anticipate potential issues, refine details and maintain close control over the finished product. This helps preserve the visual identity of the project even when it involves unusual processes, precise technical specifications or adaptations required for production.

Share a sketch, rendering, sample or simply your idea with our team. Even when a project is still at an early stage, we can help identify the elements that need to be defined, explore the possibilities offered by glass and establish a development path that reflects both the aesthetic direction and technical requirements.
We support you through feasibility assessment, solution development, prototyping and production, turning the initial concept into a finished bespoke glass product. Direct collaboration between the client, development team and production helps keep each stage focused, practical and consistent, with close attention to quality, precision and the integrity of the final result.
